Shira Alt is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor specializing in relationships. Shira utilizes evidence-based treatment models to assist couples in repairing trust, improving communication, enhancing intimacy, and deepening their connection. Shira also specializes in working with women on anxiety and stress management, life transitions, work/life balance, as well as perfectionism and relationship dissatisfaction. She has a gentle yet results driven approach that helps to draw out strength and wisdom from within her clients. Shira has an eclectic approach to therapy and draws from modalities including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Shira feels privileged and humbled to accompany her clients on the journey that counseling is. Lauren received her MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work, where her concentration was in Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities with specific clinical practice in adult mood disorders and eating disorders.

Lauren specializes in treating adolescents and adults coping with mood disorders including depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, and trauma. She also works with individuals and families focusing issues on the eating disorder spectrum.

Lauren has comprehensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and has led both group and individual sessions with individuals and families. She has held clinical positions at universities, outpatient counseling centers, and partial and inpatient hospitalization programs.

John Chasteen is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Arts, with a focus in Psychology and his Master of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati. John has training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. John is passionate about access and integrating new and innovative approaches to therapy.

John’s focus is helping individuals achieve emotional regulation while dealing with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and navigating the world. In doing so, John challenges clients’ ingrained belief systems and coaches them on how to make changes within themselves to better manage their actions and reactions. John’s therapeutic approach is built upon process, as well as unpacking thoughts and emotions, combined with an element of behavioral analysis, while maintaining a warm and empathetic style John has experience of working in assessment, intensive group therapy, clinical leadership, and with LGBTQIA+ folks. For self-care, John enjoys playing piano, jogging, cooking, and traveling the world.

Emily is a clinical social worker with 10+ years of professional experience as a child, adolescent, group, and family psychotherapist. She has experience treating a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns, with a special interest in adolescent mental health and trauma.

Emily views therapy as a structure that can allow us to pause, pivot, or re-start in a way that can have lasting , meaningful, and positive impact on our lives. Kindness and humor are foundational in her therapy approach; She is confident, calm, and direct. She aims to provide a therapy relationship that is safe, supportive, and welcoming to all individuals and families, with a broader commitment to social justice.

Emily earned her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio with a Supervisor’s designation (LISW-S). She loves being in nature, especially in the American West, and is a voracious reader.

Joel uses authentic warmth, empathy, and insight to create an environment of connection and safety where his clients can feel supported throughout their journeys. He strives to develop and maintain a genuinely collaborative therapeutic relationship, and to understand the unique therapeutic needs and goals of his clients. He utilizes a systemic and integrative approach to therapy that is informed by best practices and tailored to meet the needs of each individual, couple, and family. He believes that every person has the fundamental capacity to grow and evolve.

Additionally, he believes that change only comes about through experience. Practicing different ways of understanding and interacting with your partner and/or family is essential to healing and finding a unique solution to your problems. He sees his role as your therapist as facilitating these experiences within a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment.

Joel is trained and experienced to provide services for a number of different problems people face in their relationships or as individuals. More commonly he helps clients work through individual issues (such as depression, anxiety, coping with stress, etc.), couple issues (such as couple communication, marital dissolution, infidelity, relationship satisfaction, etc.), family issues (such as parenting, blended families, family relationship satisfaction, etc.) or child issues (such as defiance, school problems, behavioral problems, etc.).

Joe is a licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) with a Supervisor designation in the state of Ohio, and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). He graduated from Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and Northwestern University with a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Joel has been practicing since 2008, and he looks forward to working alongside his clients on a daily basis. He feels truly blessed and humbled to have the opportunity to share in the growth, transformation, and healing that his clients regularly experience.

Jessica provide psychotherapy for couples, families, individual adults, adolescents and children. She collaborate with her clients, from an integrative client-centered approach, to treat a variety of mental, emotional and relational issues.

Jessica value the strengths that her clients bring with them to the therapy room and guides them to build on those attributes to create change in their lives. She works with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, OCD, body image, stress, infidelity, marital distress, grief and loss, challenging life transitions and other issues.

She honors the courage that it takes to enter therapy and to do the work necessary to make changes in your life, your marriage and your family. She believes that strengthening, understanding and healing the relationships we have, not only with the other people in our families and in our lives, but also with ourselves, can create powerful and lasting change and growth.

Jessica also firmly believes in the mind-body connection and utilize her training as a Registered Advanced Yoga Teacher (500 RYT) to bring pieces of the yoga philosophy into her work. She helps clients connect with their breath and thoughts in a compassionate way to bring about empowerment, emotional balance and confidence.

Shannon is an LISW who received her Master’s of Social Work in 2018 from Ohio University and has been a practicing therapist for four years. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in an outpatient setting including home, school, and office based services. Shannon has worked with a wide age range of individuals ranging from preschoolers to college-aged students.

Shannon is enthusiastic and passionate about working with children and adolescents and enjoys bringing that energy and excitement into the counseling sessions. She prioritizes creating a strong therapeutic relationship by using a non-judgmental approach with all of her clients. She believes that creating a safe space in her sessions is the key to creating lasting change. Shannon has experience treating a variety of mental health conditions including Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, PTSD, ODD, anger management, behavioral issues, trauma, and family relational issues. Shannon uses interventions from a variety of evidence-based treatments including CBT, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, Trauma- Focused CBT, and Strengths Based Therapy.

Her goal as a therapist is to assist her clients in reaching their ideal level of functioning and guiding them to feel empowered by their own strengths and capabilities. She approaches each presenting client as a unique individual and will work with them closely to help them get to where they want to be.
